2022 Contest Winners
1st Place:  "Night Watch" by Lachlan McVie

"I captured this photo of the Northern Lights while camping on Best Island in the summer of 2019. It was a cold, rainy trip, with 10 out of 14 days being overcast and grey with no stars, so you can imagine our surprise when the sky opened up to this beautiful light show around 1am."

2nd Place: "Boulder Lake Bay" by Rob Klavins

"A tranquil sunset on a small bay on Boulder Lake. Taken on my 9-day solo paddle (9/6/2021 - 9/14/2021) where I put in at Shawanabis Lake, headed North on the Lookout River before turning around and enjoying the Kopka waterfalls and taking out on Bukamega Lake. It was a wonderful trip with some challenges and misadventures, but mostly just the trip of a lifetime!

"
Busy beavers provide the final barrier before
entering the Kopka River from Boulder Lake to the North."

1st Place Video:  Michael McCaffrey: Canoeing in Wabakimi NW Ontario Wilderness at its Best

"This is my Trip summary of my 7-day journey starting in Tamarack Lake ending in Bukemiga...I think my favorite thing about Wabakimi is its remoteness. You feel like you’re right there with nature, and if that’s what you’re looking for, make sure to add Wabakimi to your list.  There are hundreds of ways to plan a trip through Wabakimi… this...is what my 7-day, 73km journey looked like.
